Here in the Chester County-region, we’re surrounded by plenty of neighborhoods and businesses that go all out for the holiday season, making for a fun tradition to start as a family … driving around to see all of the lights and festive adornments of our neighbors!
Christmas Around The Farm
Our students are already big fans of Linvilla Orchard, and this favorite destination of ours transforms into a family-friendly holiday must-see! You can cut down a Christmas tree of your own, look at all of their lights, visit with Santa and can even go on a festive hayride featuring carolers. www.linvilla.com
Only about a fifteen minute ride from our West Chester-based school, you’ll find Longwood Gardens. It’s one of our favorite holiday traditions and we love how they incorporate a different theme into their decor each year. Fountains, lights, holiday music … there’s something to see around every corner! We’re partial to the Conservatory, where you can warm up and still see some of the most beautiful Christmas displays. www.longwoodgardens.org
If the Conservatory at Longwood lured you in with its indoor-centric display, then you’re sure to be a fan of the Brandywine River Museum’s setup which features a 2,000 track model train and lots of fun events throughout the season, including sensory-friendly experiences for little ones. www.brandywine.org
While this one isn’t in our own backyard, it’s a fun occasion celebrating one of our region’s most iconic snacks … Herr’s Potato Chips! On Monday, December 17 in the evening, Herr’s is going to be offering hayrides through their impressive light display. Word on the street is that Santa and his reindeer will be making an appearance (and you can take your own picture!).
