As many know, our schools celebrated World Kindness Day yesterday, November 13, 2018. Here’s the thing … we encourage our students to be kind everyday at the Show ‘N Tell Schools in both West Chester and Paoli, but loved the idea of shedding a little extra light on it on this special occasion.
Every year, on the thirteenth of November, World Kindness Day is celebrated in an effort to make the world a better place by promoting, pledging and participating in good deeds and acts of kindness.
First launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement by a Tokyo-based organization, World Kindness Day is now celebrated in over 28 nations. It’s overall mission is to create a kinder world through inspiration. That’s an annual tradition we can get behind!
We highly encourage you and your family to take some time this week to think about what you might be able to pledge. With little ones, we know that this can often be a struggle, but no act is too small! Perhaps it’s pledging to hold the door open for someone, or smiling at someone new each day. Maybe you can all take time at the table at night to give one another a compliment, which in turn could begin to translate into your child’s world outside of the home.
With the holidays quickly approaching, you may also consider volunteering. Give an extra $1 in the grocery line if you can spare it for an organization the shops might be supporting, or let your little one put some change into a red bucket this holiday season.
The sky is the limit, and we hope that you take some time to share the joy and inspiration of this special occasion with your friends and family!
